Monday 11.05
I had my research presentation today in which I presented to my class my progress so far this year. I took them through the interviews I went on and the various things I learned through my research. My goal as an ISM II student was to maintain the professional skills I learned last year and to take my presentation one step further.
Tuesday 11.06
The professional I emailed had not replied yet so I planned out an email to send them later on in the week as a follow-up. For NBCF, October and beginning of November are very hectic and so I am sure my email might have been caught up in the hundreds they get every day.
Wednesday 11.07
In class, I gave feedback to classmates regarding their presentations. I noticed a lot of things that I really wished I would have incorporated into my presentation. I made a note of a few things I want to try next time in my presentation.
Thursday 11.08
I sent out my follow-up email to the professional I am interested in securing a mentorship with.
Friday 11.09
Once again, I graded presentations in class while Mr. Pirtle was not there. From the perspective of a grader, I understood where I lost points in my previous presentations.
Reflection:
This week consisted of reflecting over my presentation skills. I think I did well, however, I do need to begin stepping away from the script and working on delivering strong. For my next presentation, I will keep that in mind. I am now waiting for a response from the professional I emailed. Once I secure that, I will once again dive deep into my topic and graduate having a surface level idea of what I want to do. Winter Showcase is also just around the corner, I want to make my board unique and really describe me and therefore, I plan to brainstorm some ideas over the next weeks.
Action/Goals:
Meet Mrs. Kim Grimes for a second interview
Use my class time for wisely and to focus on ISM more heavily
Prepare for Winter Showcase
